Job description

Job Title: Restaurant Manager

The Marriott Renaissance Hotel is seeking a guest service-focused restaurant manager to join their team of fun-spirited team members! Our newly renovated 250+ room hotel with nearly 5,000 square feet of meeting space is conveniently located for business and leisure travelers.

Hotel Property Overview:

Our property is just a short drive from the world-famous Mall of America. Features include a full-service modern American restaurant with creatively crafted interpretations of food and beverage with a Minnesota twist. Amenities include an indoor heated junior Olympic-sized pool, whirlpool, 24-hour fitness center, and a recent full remodel with a Minnesotan theme.

SPIRE Hospitality specializes in creating memorable guest experiences and delivering top-tier service at hotels and resorts nationwide. We support our staff with the necessary tools and opportunities to excel and grow in their hospitality careers.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline restaurant staff to ensure efficient operation. Conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings, communicate pertinent information, and organize staff schedules.
  2. Interact positively with customers, promote hotel facilities and services, resolve issues satisfactorily, and manage reservations and special events.
  3. Monitor food quality and service standards throughout the facility, verify food temperatures, appearance, and taste, and guide staff on quality improvements.
  4. Maintain outlet profitability by controlling payroll and equipment costs, managing inventory, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  5. Use computer systems for billing, forecasting, and reporting; ensure equipment maintenance; and support the overall Food and Beverage operation.
  6. Handle special projects, promotions, public relations, and marketing initiatives. Maintain a clean and safe environment.
  7. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Information:
  • Union experience is preferred but not required.
  • Retention incentive of $2,500 ($1,000 at 6 months, $1,500 at first anniversary).
  • Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000.
