Job description

Statement of Purpose:
In this role, the Restaurant Manager will support the General Manager by providing coaching to the team and creating a fun, inviting work environment where the team feels respected and valued. The Restaurant Manager will identify 5-Star talent and optimize staffing through effective scheduling. With support from a General Manager (GM) or District Manager (DM), they will manage daily operations and staff, ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, laws, and ethical practices. The role involves leading, interviewing, selecting, training, and developing employees, with a focus on maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Sales and Profits
  • Manage labor costs and evaluate staffing needs against sales projections.
  • Review budget and P&L monthly; promote customer satisfaction to increase sales.
  • Monitor costs, waste, and theft; communicate issues to GM or DM; assist in executing sales and profit plans.
Staffing & Hiring
  • Handle crew applications, interviews, and references; monitor turnover and make recommendations.
Quality
  • Ensure product quality through customer interactions and crew performance feedback; train crew in customer service and solicit feedback.
Cleanliness
  • Train crew on cleanliness standards; address deficiencies.
Training
  • Train crew on new products, orientation, and cross-training; recognize high performers.
Controls
  • Follow flowcharts and monitor inventory, security, and standards; manage shift to Q.S.C. of 80% or better.
Policies and Procedures
  • Adhere to operational manuals, safety, and cash control policies; report accidents and health violations.
Administration
  • Perform administrative duties, schedule crew, and ensure compliance with benefits.
Maintenance
  • Follow maintenance programs; report and track repairs.
Employee Relations
  • Manage performance issues, reduce turnover, communicate effectively, mentor, and foster teamwork.
Performance Management
  • Address performance problems and conduct reviews.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Knowledge
  • Wendy's systems, policies, supervisory practices, interviewing, and training programs.
Education
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • One year of restaurant operations experience; capable of performing all operational positions.
Other
  • Minimum age 18; knowledge of employment laws; ability to train others; physical ability to stand, lift, and perform duties; valid driver's license; ServSafe certification; flexibility for 50-hour work weeks; ability to work various shifts.
