Job description

Join to apply for the Restaurant Line Cook role at Rhubarb Hospitality Collection.

We are seeking an experienced line cook to join our culinary team. As an important member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace, preparing high-quality dishes, and collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure seamless service.

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare ingredients and set up station mise en place for service.
  2. Execute menu items from start to finish, including preparation of ingredients, butchery of proteins, cooking, and plating of menu items.
  3. Cook dishes to order as delegated and to the restaurant standard.
  4. Maintain station cleanliness and adherence to DOH standards and regulations.
  5. Participate in cooking family meals.
  6. Handle all products properly, including storage and rotation.
  7. Close the kitchen properly per closing checklist and assist others in closing the kitchen.
  8. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of classic cooking techniques.
  9. Maintain cleanliness of BOH work areas, including refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas.
  10. Participate in the preparation and development of new menu items.
  11. Hone existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set.
  12. Work collaboratively with BOH and FOH staff.
  13. Support team members and foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
  1. Excellent knife skills.
  2. Knowledge of cooking procedures, safety, and sanitation.
  3. Experience on multiple kitchen stations.
  4. Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more.
  5. Strong communication and teamwork skills to support colleagues and ensure quality and accuracy.
  6. 2-3 years in a professional kitchen.
