Job summary

Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa in Johnson City, Texas is seeking a Host/Hostess to coordinate dining room reservations and guest seating, ensuring a seamless transition from podium to table. You will answer questions about the property, take reservations by phone or online, and direct guests to dining areas with menus and wine lists.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of restaurant experience, can communicate clearly in English, and presents a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• One year of restaurant experience preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, understand and write the primary language of the work place.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate seating and reservations for the dining room; monitor server workflow under supervisor.
• Answer phones within three rings courteously and professionally.
• Meet and greet guests promptly and address guests by name when possible.
• Escort guests to tables with clean menus and wine lists.
• Maintain knowledge of the Dining Room menu.
• Maintain a waiting list with approximate times and inform guests when their table is ready.
• Handle guest complaints promptly and inform the Manager.
• Anticipate guests’ needs at all times.
• Inspect and replace menus and wine lists as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

SUMMARY:

Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa is currently hiring Host/Hostess to join our resort. In this position, the ideal candidate will be coordinating dining room reservations and guest seating to assure a seamless transition from the podium to the table. Answer questions about and direct guests to other areas of the property, answer the phones and take restaurant reservations.

DUTIES

• Coordinates seating and reservations of the dining room, monitors efficiency of the workflow of the servers under the direction of the Supervisor.
• Answer phones with in three rings in a courteous and professional manner.
• Meets and greets guests promptly, courteously, and addressing guests by name when possible.
• Escorts guests to tables with proper amount of clean menus and wine lists.
• Maintains a complete working knowledge of the Dining Room menu.
• Maintains a waiting list with approximate times, directs guests to areas to wait and to inform the guests when their table is ready.
• Handles all guest complaints or dissatisfaction promptly and professionally, informs the Manager of all guest issues.
• Anticipates guests’ needs at all times.
• Inspects and replaces menus and wine lists that are soiled.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager
• Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor.

JOB KNOWLEDGE

One year previous restaurant experience preferred. Must be able to speak, read, understand and write the primary language of the work place. Restaurant experience preferred.

CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS

Must be obtained/current upon hire and maintained for duration of employment.

Compensation: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
