Job summary

Beyond Catering in Hillside, IL is seeking a General Manager in Training (GMIT) to build the next generation of restaurant leaders. The role offers a clear pathway to ownership through our Managing Partner Program, with profit-sharing and long-term leadership opportunities within the Buona organization.

The GMIT will oversee daily operations, drive sales, manage expenses, and develop a high-performing team, while upholding our family-like culture and strong policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to lead 10+ team members per shift.
• Experience with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant practices and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Proven leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets
• Recognize all revenue areas & development strategies to impact sales
• Enforce and execute advertising and marketing plans, and HR and training materials
• Manage and control direct expenses
• Direct labor, food cost variances, repairs and maintenance, discounts, and other direct expenses
• Selection, retention, supervision, and training of all employees
• Conduct quarterly reviews
• Adhere to established training programs
• Determine advancement/termination
• Develop employees into shift managers
• Provide guidance to our talented & motivated team and lead them toward success
