Job summary

Tartine Bakery in Los Angeles seeks an experienced General Manager to lead all restaurant operations with a passion for hospitality and exceptional guest service.

You'll oversee day-to-day activities, uphold Tartine standards for food quality and service, manage cost controls, schedules, and P&L, and lead a team through coaching and development. Weekend openings and closings are required, with a focus on guest experience.

Qualifications

• Be 21 years of age or older.
• Five or more years of front-of-the-house operations and experience in a managerial role in the service or food and beverage industry.
• Able to communicate clearly and follow directions.
• Open to feedback and collaboration.
• A genuine desire to be part of a winning team.
• Excellent basic mathematical skills.
• Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work long shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Creating and fostering the hospitality experience for all guests and team members.
• Lead and train teams to meet Tartine hospitality standards.
• Monitor service, food quality, and cleanliness; maintain high standards.
• Manage guest feedback and resolve issues promptly.
• Coach managers and staff to communicate clearly and respectfully.
• Coordinate with departments on recipes, ingredients, allergens and menu changes.
• Oversee health, safety, and labor compliance; ensure proper cash handling and reconciliation.
• Lead staff scheduling, staffing needs, and cross-training to maximize productivity.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are operational; initiate repairs when needed.
• Participate in manager calls and contribute improvement ideas.
• Take accountability for restaurant P&L and financial results.
