Job description

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to take the helm of a high-volume, landmark restaurant in the heart of downtown Baltimore. Positioned steps from major sports venues, convention hubs, and event spaces, this concept offers a rare combination of rich architectural character, high-energy event surges, and strong guest loyalty.

This role requires a proactive, entrepreneurial hospitality leader who brings fresh initiative, sharp business acumen, and a desire to drive continuous improvement across every level of the business. The General Manager leads a comprehensive operation that scales dynamically with major local events, game days, and private buyouts. The ideal leader thrives on adaptability—turning massive surge days into seamless, profitable shifts while strategically managing quieter periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Modernize workflows, optimize guest flow, and refine execution standards across all Front-of-House and Back-of-House operations.
  • Master Dynamic Scheduling: Oversee master labor schedules mapped directly to city event calendars and game days to maximize revenue while controlling costs during slower stretches.
  • Empower & Develop Team: Mentor and direct a multi-tiered leadership team while inspiring a floor and kitchen staff of nearly 70 hospitality professionals.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage key P&L metrics and optimize labor, food, and beverage costs to ensure strong profitability across all revenue streams.
  • Execute High-Impact Private Events: Partner with executive culinary and sales teams to seamlessly host large-scale private events, buyouts, and group gatherings.
  • Manage Historic Facilities: Oversee the unique day-to-day needs of a historic property, preserving its distinct architectural character while keeping the space fully operational, safe, and inviting.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven Executive Track Record: Direct experience managing operations with $4M+ in annual sales volume, ideally within event-driven or high-traffic hospitality environments.
  • Owner’s Mindset: Background as a former owner or senior operator with the autonomy, confidence, and vision to make high-impact operational choices.
  • Adaptable Leadership: Highly organized and proactive, with a proven ability to coach management teams, cultivate a positive workplace culture, and maintain high standards under pressure.
  • Event-Driven Expertise: The ability to pivot operational strategies quickly based on changing volume and local event schedules.
  • Base Salary: $85,000 – $115,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
  • Performance Bonus Structure
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • High Degree of Operational Autonomy
