Job summary

The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City seeks a full-time team member for Laurel, our full-service restaurant. AM and PM shifts available; must be 21+ and able to communicate in English. Benefits accrue after 60 days, including medical, dental, vision and life insurance, plus floating holidays and sick pay.

Weekend and holiday availability is required. Duties include side work, serving assistance, and maintaining high cleanliness and safety standards in a busy dining environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform set side work duties promptly and accurately.
• Adhere to all State, Federal and local laws related to food and beverage service.
• Monitor guest and staff actions to ensure health and safety standards.
• Assist servers by running food or drinks and setting tables as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness in the dining area and abide by sanitation standards.
• Perform other job-related duties as directed.

Description

Come work with us in our beautiful full-service restaurant, Laurel. Full-time AM and PM positions are available. Full-time benefits including medical, dental, vision and life insurance after 60 days, as well as floating holidays and sick pay. Vacation (40 hours) available after 90 days of employment. Must be over 21 and able to communicate clearly in English (speak, read, and write.) Weekend and holiday availability are required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accomplishing a set list of side work duties in a timely manner
• Responsible for adhering to all State, Federal and local laws as they pertain to the sale and service of food and beverage products
• Responsible for monitoring the actions of guests and staff ensuring proper health and safety standards are met
• Will be available to assist servers by running food &/or drink orders, expedite food, bus, pre-bus, set & pre-set tables, fill waters, retrieve bread and openly communicate information to the table’s appropriate server
• Works cohesively with other team members and good communicator
• Maintaining specified levels of cleanliness within the outlet including trash removal, vacuuming, and cleaning tables of food
• Will be available to assist servers by running food &/or drink orders, expedite food, bus, pre-bus, set & pre-set tables, fill waters, retrieve bread and openly communicate information to the table’s appropriate server
• Performs other job-related duties as directed

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the dining area for extended periods of time (up to 8+ hours).
• Ability to lift and carry heavy trays, food, and beverage orders (up to 25 pounds).
• Ability to bend, squat, and reach to serve guests and retrieve items from shelves or storage areas.
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment with high noise levels.
• Good physical stamina and mobility to efficiently serve a high volume of customers throughout shifts.
