Job summary

The Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City is seeking a friendly food server for a seasonal, on-call role. You will present menus, take orders, and serve food and beverages, while keeping tables clean and inviting for guests.

The job requires speed, a polite demeanor, and strong guest service skills in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include performing side work, maintaining cleanliness, following health and safety standards, and assisting other servers as needed.

Description

The food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced workplace, we’d like to meet you. This position is a seasonal, on call.

Responsibilities:

• Accomplishing a set list of side work duties in a timely manner.
• Abiding by all the guest service standards.
• Maintaining specified levels of cleanliness within the outlet.
• Responsible for adhering to all State, Federal and local laws as they pertain to the sale and service of food and beverage products.
• Responsible for monitoring the actions of guests and staff ensuring proper health and safety standards are met.
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with all company employees.
• Performs other job-related duties as directed.
• Will be available to assist servers by; running food &/or drink orders, expedite food, buss, pre-buss, set & pre-set tables, fill waters, retrieve bread and openly communicate information to the table’s appropriate server.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the dining area for extended periods of time (up to 8+ hours).
• Ability to lift and carry heavy trays, food, and beverage orders (up to 25 pounds).
• Ability to bend, squat, and reach in order to serve guests and retrieve items from shelves or storage areas.
• Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment with high noise levels.
• Good physical stamina and mobility to efficiently serve a high volume of customers throughout shifts.
