The Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in overseeing all day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring that every guest experience is memorable. This role plays a key part in the Food and Beverage Department as part of the management team. All outlet leaders are responsible for the fiscal success of their outlet and the department through teamwork, promotion, retention, and creative problem solving. When applicable, the Assistant Restaurant Manager will oversee Guest Room Dining services.

Essential Functions

• Deliver exceptional guest service, exceeding expectations for both associates and guests.
• Build and retain guest relations, mentoring staff to provide superior service.
• Oversee daily restaurant operations.
• Communicate on behalf of owners, executives, and staff regarding relevant matters.
• Meet financial goals aligned with budgets.
• Collaborate with culinary and management teams to foster teamwork.
• Handle administrative tasks such as drafting correspondence, approving schedules, and submitting payroll accurately and on time.
• Communicate resort news to staff as needed.
• Attend mandatory department and resort meetings.
• Follow up on guest concerns promptly.
• Assist in creating annual operating budgets.
• Maintain attention to detail, multitask effectively, and handle confidential information discretely.
• Make independent decisions using critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ensure compliance with training and safety standards (RAMP, ServSafe, etc.).
• Provide coaching and feedback to staff during training and service.
• Review financial reports and respond with feedback and recommendations.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and uphold Forbes Five Star and Four Diamond standards.
• Promote associate engagement and create a positive work environment.
• Manage staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak dining times.
• Communicate professionally with all contacts and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Associate’s degree in Hospitality or related field required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Minimum 1-year supervisory experience in a Food & Beverage outlet.
• Experience in a Forbes four or five-star rated restaurant preferred.
• Outgoing personality with superior customer service skills.
• Excellent communication and workflow management skills.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluent in English.
• Basic math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proven staff development and retention skills.
• Physical ability to lift 5-30 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform related physical tasks.
