Job summary

The McCall Behavioral Health Network is seeking a REST Program Director to provide clinical and operational leadership for the REST Crisis Stabilization Unit, a 24/7 on-site program in western Connecticut. This role supervises clinicians, nursing staff, and peer specialists, with on-call availability for urgent needs.

Qualified candidates hold an active CT clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or psychologist) and have at least two years in crisis settings plus three years of supervision.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted clinical license in CT (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or licensed psychologist).
• Minimum two years direct clinical crisis stabilization experience.
• Minimum three years supervisory experience leading a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention models, risk assessment, licensing regulations (state), Medicaid billing, and Joint Commission accreditation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to prepare clinical/operational reports for funders/regulators.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to multidisciplinary staff ensuring coordinated, integrated care.
• Conduct regular supervision, clinical case consultations, performance evaluations, and professional development planning.
• Foster a collaborative team culture bridging clinical, medical, and peer perspectives.
• Manage staffing schedules, including 24/7 coverage and on-call obligations.
• Lead hiring, onboarding, and training for all program staff.
• Ensure all clinical services, screenings, risk assessments, and treatment planning meet standards for crisis care.
• Serve as clinical resource and escalation point for high-acuity situations including suicidality/psychiatric emergencies.
• Maintain knowledge of crisis intervention models and trauma-informed care; train staff accordingly.
• Review clinical documentation for quality, timeliness, and compliance with standards.
• Ensure operations comply with licensing, Medicaid, contracts, and accreditation requirements.
• Develop and monitor program policies, procedures, and protocols; update as needed.
• Track and report program performance data and quality metrics to leadership/funders.
• Manage program budget in collaboration with finance and executive leadership.
• Oversee incident reporting, risk management, and continuous quality improvement.
• Build and maintain relationships with referral sources (hospitals, mobile crisis, community partners).
• Represent the REST program in community meetings and forums.
• Coordinate discharge and step-down planning for continuity with outpatient services.

REST Program Director - Sign-On Bonus of $8,000 for Fully Licensed Professional

The REST Program Director provides overall clinical and operational leadership for the Rapid Evaluation, Stabilization, and Treatment (REST), a short-term, voluntary alternative to inpatient hospitalization for individuals experiencing acute behavioral health crises. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care; maintaining regulatory and contractual compliance; and providing direct supervision and clinical oversight of a multidisciplinary team including clinicians, peer support specialists, and nursing staff. This position is based on-site at the REST Crisis Stabilization Unit, a 24/7 operating program. The REST Program Director generally works standard business hours but must be available for on-call consultation and able to respond to urgent program needs outside of regular hours.

Full-Time / Exempt

Salary Range begins at $110,000

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must possess an active, unrestricted clinical license in the State of Connecticut, such as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or licensed psychologist. At least two years of direct clinical experience in a crisis stabilization unit, psychiatric emergency setting, inpatient psychiatric program, or other acute crisis behavioral health setting is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of supervisory experience leading a multidisciplinary team, including clinicians, nursing staff, and/or peer support professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of crisis intervention models and risk assessment, along with a working knowledge of applicable state licensing regulations, Medicaid billing requirements, and Joint Commission accreditation standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including experience preparing clinical and operational reports for funders or regulatory bodies. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to effectively respond to and manage high-acuity, time-sensitive situations using sound clinical judgment.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk, using the phone, and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

Valid Driver’s license is required.
