Job summary

Circle the City in Mesa, AZ seeks a dedicated Respite Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support in a center serving patients recovering from illness. You will ensure continuity of care, assist with patient transport using center vans, and support team communication across shifts.

The role involves assisting with personal care, basic nursing tasks, and daily operations, including inventory checks and light housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Able to obtain and record vital signs accurately.
• Proficient in reading and writing skills in English.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Demonstrated interest in working with an underserved population.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant and/or Medical Assistant program preferred
• Behavioral Health Technician certification may be considered in lieu of Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Food Handlers Card.
• Bi-lingual- Spanish highly desired.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license, active license for at least 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Program Manager/Nursing Staff to determine assignments and priorities.
• Maintains timely verbal and written communication for patient care and center operations.
• Provides safe and timely transportation for patients to off-site appointments.
• Treats patients with confidentiality, rights, and dignity.
• Checks inventories weekly and stocks supplies.
• Assist patients with personal hygiene.
• Assist with clerical tasks and copying.
• Phone coverage and triage of calls.
• Provide personal care and one-to-one support for end-of-life patients.
• Assist with dorm cleaning and patient laundry.
• Coordinate mealtime needs and clean up after meals.
• Performs other duties as required.
