Job summary

Circle the City at East Valley Medical Respite Center in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Respite Assistant to provide both clinical and clerical support to patients recovering from illness. You will help maintain continuity of care and may transport patients and deliver supplies as needed to support the care team.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic medical terminology knowledge, and bilingual Spanish is highly desired.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
Able to obtain and record vital signs accurately.
Proficient reading/writing in English.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Bi-lingual Spanish highly desired.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Program Manager/Nursing Staff on shift priorities and task outcomes.
Maintains timely verbal and written communication for patient care.
Provides safe patient transport to off-site appointments using the center vans.
Assists with personal care, housekeeping and laundry as needed.
Triages calls and handles phone coverage during shifts.
Supports end-of-life patient care with compassion and discretion.
Checks inventories weekly and stocks supplies.
Coordinates mealtime needs for patients and clean-up after meals.
