Job summary

Circle the City in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Respite Assistant to support clinical and clerical tasks at the East Valley Medical Respite Center. You will help transport patients, manage basic care, and assist with routine duties to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include collaboration with nursing staff, maintaining communications, and supporting daily operations while upholding patient dignity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Able to obtain and record vital signs accurately.
• Proficient in reading and writing English.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
• Demonstrated interest in underserved populations.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA/MA program preferred.
• BH Technician certification may be considered in lieu of CNA/MA.
• BLS Certification required.
• Food Handler's Card desired.
• Bi-lingual Spanish highly desired.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license with active license for at least 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Program Manager and Nursing Staff to set tasks and priorities.
• Maintains timely verbal and written communication for patient care and center operations.
• Provides safe transportation for patients to off-site appointments using center vans.
• Treats patients with confidentiality, rights, and dignity.
• Checks inventories weekly, reports needs, and stocks supplies.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene as needed.
• Assists with copying and clerical tasks as needed.
• Phone coverage and triage of calls when necessary.
• Provides personal care and one-to-one support for end-of-life patients.
• Assists with dorm cleaning and patient laundry.
• Coordinates mealtime needs and cleanup after meals.
• Performs other duties as required.
