Job summary

Circle the City seeks a Respite Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support at the East Valley Medical Respite Center in Mesa, AZ. You will help patients heal from illness, assist with daily care, and serve as a bridge for communication among care teams.

The role includes patient transport, basic medical tasks, and maintaining a clean, organized center while ensuring confidentiality and dignity for all clients. CNA/MA training and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to obtain and record vital signs accurately.
• English reading and writing skills required.
• Excellent communication and customer service.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in underserved populations.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA/MA program preferred; BLS certification beneficial.
• Bi-lingual Spanish highly desired.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license with active license for 3+ years.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Program Manager and Nursing staff to set tasks and priorities.
• Maintains timely communication for patient care and center operations.
• Provides safe transportation for patients to off-site appointments in vans.
• Preserves patient confidentiality and dignity.
• Checks inventories and stocks supplies weekly.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene as needed.
• Assist with clerical tasks and duties.
• Handles phone coverage and triage when necessary.
• Provides personal care and one-to-one support for end-of-life needs.
• Assists with dorm cleaning and patient laundry.
• Coordinates mealtime needs and cleans up after meals.
• Performs other duties as required.
