Job summary

Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona is seeking a Respite Assistant to support Medical Respite guests at the Casa de Respiro facility. You will assist with daily living activities, treatment recommendations, and connecting guests to healthcare resources.

Under supervision, you will document progress, support recovery, and collaborate with the Adult Recovery Team to advocate for guests and maintain safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience working in a healthcare or personal care capacity.
• Credentialled as a Peer and Recovery Support Specialist, or able to obtain certification within 90 days.
• Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification.
• Proven strong communication skills - oral and written are clear, concise, and in an organized fashion.

Responsibilities

• Engages Medical Respite guests and offers assistance with understanding treatment recommendations and holistic healthcare.
• Assists guests with developing skills related to independent care of daily living activities.
• Assists guests with utilizing healthcare services and community resources.
• Works with Adult Recovery Team (ART) to provide recovery support and advocacy.
• Assists guests with self-administration of medications as directed by a healthcare professional.
• Disseminates literature and information on recovery.
• Encourages health, safety, and welfare of guests at all times.
• May drive personal or agency vehicle on company business.
