Job summary

Accendra Health in the Chicago metro area seeks a Respiratory Therapist Lead to blend hands-on patient care with leadership across the market. You’ll lead Respiratory Therapists, oversee equipment setups (oxygen, CPAP, BiPAP, ventilators), mentor staff, and travel to support branches.

A Registered Respiratory Therapist with IL licensure and a minimum of 10 years’ experience is required. The role emphasizes patient safety, education for families, and collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active IL RT license and CPR certification.
• Minimum 10 years of respiratory therapy experience; DME experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel across the Chicago metro area.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and clinical support to RTs in the Chicago metro area.
• Serve as SME for respiratory equipment and patient care best practices.
• Setup and follow-up visits for oxygen, CPAP, BiPAP, ventilators, and other respiratory devices.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with complex patient situations.
• Educate patients, caregivers, and clinical staff on equipment use and safety.
• Support branch operations and ensure policy and clinical standard compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, referral sources, and branch leadership.
• Perform patient assessments and timely documentation of care.
• Assist with training and mentoring Respiratory Therapists.
• Travel throughout the Chicago metro area to support branch needs.
