Job summary

Accendra Health in Hanover Park, IL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support metro branches with extensive patient interaction, in-home and hospital-based care, and flexible field duties across the metro area.

You will perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation setups during home visits, educate patients, document care, respond to discharge requests, and collaborate with physicians and case managers to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active IL RT license.
• DME experience is a plus and open to diverse experience levels.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull 10‑50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and comfortable with mobile tech and digital docs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to set up oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care, and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs with branch teams.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and internal teams; document via iPad/Laptop.
• Set up and operate respiratory care equipment, including oxygen, nebulization, PAP and ventilation.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operation; perform clinical assessments (pulse ox, ETCO2, spirometry).
• Perform other duties as required.
