Job summary

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Newark, Ohio is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our team on a PRN basis. You will work with a progressive care team to deliver innovative respiratory therapies and professional medical care to our residents.

The role requires an active State Respiratory Care Practitioner license, completion of an approved respiratory therapy program, and 1–3 months of related experience or training.

Qualifications

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Operates equipment to ensure prescribed therapy parameters and administers gases and aerosol drugs under physician orders.
• Monitors patient responses to therapy via vital signs.
• Assists patients with breathing exercises.
• Observes equipment function and adjusts settings to optimize therapy.
• Maintains patient charts with identification and therapy information.
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment for safety and efficiency; orders repairs when needed.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel.

About the Role:

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, a skilled nursing facility providing short-term rehabilitation and extended care, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our team on a PRN basis. As a Respiratory Therapist (RT) with our facility, you will have the opportunity to work with a progressive, high-quality care team to deliver innovative therapy techniques and professional medical care to our patients. Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment and administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician
• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs
• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises
• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy
• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently
• Orders repairs when needed
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel

Requirements:

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy
• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
