Job summary

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Newark, OH is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. You will operate ventilators and gas administration equipment, monitor patient responses, and assist with breathing exercises under physician orders.

Requirements include an active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License and completion of an approved respiratory therapy program, with 1-3 months of related experience or training.

Location: Newark, Ohio

About the Role:

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, a skilled nursing facility providing short-term rehabilitation and extended care, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist (RT) with our facility, you will have the opportunity to work with a progressive, high-quality care team to deliver innovative therapy techniques and professional medical care to our patients. Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment and administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician
• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs
• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises
• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy
• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently
• Orders repairs when needed
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel

Requirements:
