Job summary

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Newark, Ohio seeks a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) for full-time day shifts to join our skilled nursing facility. The RT will operate ventilators, manage therapeutic gases, monitor patient responses, and support breathing exercises.

The role requires an active state license, completion of an approved RT program, and 1–3 months of related experience or training.

Qualifications

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
• 1–3 months of related experience or training, or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment and administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician.
• Monitors patient\'s physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs.
• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises.
• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy.
• Maintains patient\'s chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information.
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
• Orders repairs when needed.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel.
