Job summary

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Newark, Ohio is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team on full-time night shifts.

In this role you will operate ventilators and respiratory devices, monitor patient responses, assist patients with breathing exercises, document care, and coordinate with physicians to deliver high-quality therapy in a comfortable, intimate setting.

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy
• 1–3 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates respiratory devices such as ventilators and aerosol generators.
• Administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs under physician orders.
• Monitors patient vital signs and responses to therapy.
• Assists patients with breathing exercises.
• Adjusts equipment to obtain optimum therapy results.
• Maintains patient charts with therapy information.
• Inspects respiratory equipment for safety and efficiency; requests repairs when needed.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and staff.

About the Role:

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, a skilled nursing facility providing short-term rehabilitation and extended care, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist (RT) with our facility, you will have the opportunity to work with a progressive, high-quality care team to deliver innovative therapy techniques and professional medical care to our patients. Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment and administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician
• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs
• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises
• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy
• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently
• Orders repairs when needed
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel

Requirements:

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy
• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
