Job summary

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Newark, Ohio is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) for full-time day shifts. The RT will work within a skilled nursing facility, delivering respiratory care to patients, operating ventilators, and administering therapeutic gases under physician orders.

Qualifications

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License is required.
• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy is required.
• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Operates equipment to ensure prescribed treatment parameters and administers gases/drugs under physician orders.
• Monitors patient responses to therapy via vital signs and chart review.
• Assists patients in performing breathing exercises.
• Observes equipment function and adjusts to optimize therapy results.
• Maintains patient charts with identification and therapy details.
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Orders repairs when needed.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other staff.

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, a skilled nursing facility providing short-term rehabilitation and extended care, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our team. Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment and administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician
• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs
• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises
• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy
• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently
• Orders repairs when needed
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel

Requirements:
