Job summary

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Newark, Ohio is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team for full-time night shifts. You will set up and operate respiratory devices, monitor patient responses, and support breathing exercises to ensure optimal patient recovery in a compassionate, intimate setting.

The role requires completing an approved respiratory therapy program and holding an active state license, with 1–3 months of related experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate respiratory therapy devices and administer gases and aerosol drugs.

• Maintain and document patient therapy charts.
• Inspect and test equipment for safety and efficiency; report repairs.
• Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and healthcare staff.

About the Role:

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, a skilled nursing facility providing short-term rehabilitation and extended care, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist (RT) with our facility, you will have the opportunity to work with a progressive, high-quality care team to deliver innovative therapy techniques and professional medical care to our patients. Responsibilities:

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment and administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician
• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs
• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises
• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy
• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently
• Orders repairs when needed
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel

Requirements:

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy
• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
