Job summary

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Newark, Ohio, seeks a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team for full-time night shifts. You will operate ventilators, monitor patients, and contribute to high-quality care.

The role requires an active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License and completion of an approved respiratory therapy program, with 0–3 months of related experience.

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Care Practitioner License required.
• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
• 0–3 months of related experience or training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate ventilators and related devices.
• Administer therapeutic gases and aerosols per physician orders.
• Monitor patient vital signs and response to therapy.
• Assist patients with breathing exercises and airway clearance.
• Adjust equipment to achieve optimal therapy results.
• Maintain accurate patient therapy charts and records.
• Inspect and test respiratory therapy equipment for safety and reliability.
• Escalate repairs when equipment is faulty or unsafe.
• Educate trainees and staff on respiratory care procedures.

About the Role

Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation, a skilled nursing facility providing short-term rehabilitation and extended care, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist (RT) with our facility, you will have the opportunity to work with a progressive, high-quality care team to deliver innovative therapy techniques and professional medical care to our patients. Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment and administers medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician
• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs
• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises
• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy
• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently
• Orders repairs when needed
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other healthcare personnel

Requirements

• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy
• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
