Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with at least an associate degree.
• No prior experience required.
• RCP license in the state of practice and NBRC credential (RRT or CRT) within the specified timeframe; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients using respiratory therapy processes and pulmonary diagnostics.
• Operate specialized ventilators and assist physicians with bedside procedures.
• Provide prescribed respiratory treatments and therapies.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment and identify service/repair needs.
• Educate patients on therapy purpose, technique, self-care, goals, and disease management.
• Collaborate with other departments to educate on patient management.
• Adapt to policies and procedures across service areas while maintaining performance standards.
• Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and patient handoff.
• Promote patient safety and report safety events or near misses.
• Teach and precept new teammates and students.
• Assess age-specific patient needs and data to guide care.
