Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health, Inc. seeks a Respiratory Therapist to support patient assessment using pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, hemodynamic values, labs, and blood gas interpretation across care settings.

You will operate specialized ventilators, assist physicians, provide prescribed therapies, educate patients, and collaborate with other departments to improve care. Must hold an RCP license, NBRC credentials (RRT or CRT), BLS, and have at least an associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Uses respiratory therapy processes to assess patients with pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, hemodynamic values, labs, and blood gas analysis.
• Operates specialized ventilators and assists physicians with bedside procedures as applicable.
• Provides prescribed medications and therapies per physician orders or protocols.
• Maintains and troubleshoots equipment and arranges service as needed.
• Educates patients on purpose, technique, self-care, and disease management.
• Collaborates with other departments to provide patient education and care.
• Adapts to policies and maintains performance standards across service areas.
• Communicates clearly, provides timely handoffs, and participates in safety initiatives.
• Teaches and precepts new teammates, orientees, and students.
• Delivers age-appropriate care and assesses needs across life spans.
