Job summary

Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc in Turnersville, NJ seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory therapy, assess patient condition, consult with physicians on treatment plans, and document care in compliance with quality standards.

You will monitor patients on mechanical ventilation, perform invasive and non-invasive evaluations, support discharge planning, and collaborate with the health care team to ensure safe, effective respiratory care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine.
• Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Associate's/2-year degree required.
• Registered by NBRC; if not certified, obtain NBRC registration within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson values.
• Administers physician-prescribed respiratory therapy, including oxygen, medications, PFTs, ABGs, and ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures to determine care needs and makes recommendations to improve outcomes.
• Monitors mechanically ventilated patients including rounds, weaning, airway care, and testing.
• Collects sputum, blood and breath samples and measures lung capacity.
• Offers diagnostic results and treatment suggestions based on analysis.
• Communicates with health care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT and ABG laboratory per supervisor guidance.
