Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role includes handling ABG analysis, EKGs, and implementing therapy under physician orders, while following established policies and procedures. Flexibility to cover a 24/7 schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's Degree and state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Certification by NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist is required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as ordered by physician.
• Provides care tailored to patient age and needs across the care setting.
• Adheres to privacy, safety, and regulatory standards in daily work.
