Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for in-patients and out-patients from neonatal to geriatric ages.

Responsibilities include performing therapeutic procedures, reviewing clinical information, educating patients and staff, and ensuring care aligns with physician orders and established policies. Requires licensure and NBRC/ACLS/BLS certifications within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Windows-style applications and role-specific software.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to policy.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides age-appropriate care across neonatal to geriatric populations.
• Adapts care to patient population and privacy considerations.
• Other related duties as required.
