Job summary

Ochsner Health in Gretna, LA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for inpatients and outpatients from neonatal to geriatric. You will perform arterial blood gas analysis, deliver therapy, monitor patients, and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred), a current Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license, NBRC RRT, and BLS; ACLS

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; AC LS within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures according to policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides age-appropriate care considering patient population.
• Adapts communication and approach to patient needs.
