Job summary

Montgomery Subacute is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled team. The role involves weekend shifts (7am–7pm on Saturdays and Sundays) performing assessments, therapies, and ventilator management for residents with complex pulmonary needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations.
• Collaborate with physicians to develop and adjust treatment plans.
• Conduct diagnostic testing including lung function and ABG reviews.
• Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen and chest physiotherapy.
• Monitor ventilator-dependent residents and initiate support when needed.
• Track respiratory status and ensure equipment functions properly.
• Educate residents and families on treatments and device use.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care and progress.

Daily Pay!

Starting pay $40-$55 (all inclusive)

Guided by our core values of Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the Respiratory Therapist provides skilled assessment, treatment, and education to residents requiring respiratory support across the care continuum.

Responsibilities for Respiratory Therapist:

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and modify individualized treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
• Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.

Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage residents, families, and clinical teams.
