Job summary

North End Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Boston, MA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for full-time roles. Shifts include 7 AM–7 PM and 7 PM–7 AM, with an all-inclusive pay rate of $40–$45 per hour and a $5 PIB differential.

Responsibilities include conducting chest assessments, developing care plans with the interdisciplinary team, and administering respiratory therapies. The facility values compassionate, high-quality care and ongoing staff development.

Qualifications

  • RRT credential from NBRC is required.
  • Current state licensure is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
  • Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in SNF/LTACH/hospital setting required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
  • Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate, and modify treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic testing including lung capacity measurements and blood gas evaluation.
  • Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen, aerosols, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Manage ventilator-dependent residents and initiate ventilator support when necessary.
  • Monitor residents' respiratory status and equipment functioning.
  • Educate residents and families on treatments, equipment use, and medications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and progress.

Responsibilities for Respiratory Therapist:
  • Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
  • Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and modify individualized treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels.
  • Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
  • Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
  • Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.
Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
  • Current state licensure required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
  • Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage residents, families, and clinical teams.
