Job summary

North End Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Boston, MA, is hiring a Respiratory Therapist for full-time, around-the-clock coverage. The role requires an RRT credential and current MA licensure, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in skilled nursing, LTACH, or hospital settings.

You will perform respiratory assessments, administer therapies, manage ventilator care, and educate residents and families while working with an interdisciplinary team to maintain high-quality care standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required.
• Current state licensure in MA or ability to obtain.
• 3+ years of respiratory therapy preferred in SNF/LTAC/hospital settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and educate residents needing respiratory support.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams on treatment plans.

$40-$45 an hour (all-inclusive)

Guided by our core values of Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the Respiratory Therapist provides skilled assessment, treatment, and education to residents requiring respiratory support across the care continuum.

Responsibilities for Respiratory Therapist:

• Perform comprehensive chest assessments and respiratory examinations for a diverse resident population.
• Consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop, evaluate, and modify individualized treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including lung capacity measurements and evaluation of blood gas levels.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
• Manage and monitor ventilator-dependent residents, including initiation of ventilator support when necessary.
• Conduct regular monitoring of residents’ respiratory status and ensure proper functioning of respiratory equipment.
• Educate residents and families on respiratory treatments, equipment use, and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and resident progress in accordance with clinical standards.

Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
• Current state licensure required.
• Minimum of 3 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and ventilator management in a skilled nursing facility, LTACH, or hospital setting required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage residents, families, and clinical teams.
