Job summary

The Carpenter Health Network in Lake Charles, LA is seeking full-time Respiratory Therapists. You will provide respiratory care services, document progress, educate staff, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be credentialed by NBRC and graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Knowledgeable of long-term care practices, laws and guidelines governing long term care
• Flexible schedule including 12-hour shifts
• Patient care oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide general respiratory therapeutic services including oxygen, medical gas, humidification and suction therapies.
• Document patient/resident procedures, organize and analyze data, maintain accurate records.
• Communicate relevant patient/resident information to appropriate physicians and caregivers
• Provide staff education related to respiratory therapy
• Exhibits commitment to results by looking for and recommending/implementing process improvements
• Monitor patient/resident progress and update respiratory care plan as needed

Requirements

• Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and be a graduate of an approved AMA school of Respiratory Therapy
• Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care
• Must be able to work flexible schedule including 12-hour shifts

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
