Job summary

Capitol House Nursing and Rehabilitation is hiring PRN Respiratory Therapists in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role requires NBRC credential and an active Louisiana RT license, with flexibility for 12-hour shifts and a focus on patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide general respiratory therapies including oxygen, medical gas, humidification and suction.
• Document procedures, organize data and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate patient information to physicians and caregivers as needed.
• Educate staff on respiratory therapy procedures.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to improve care.
• Monitor patient progress and update care plans accordingly.

Starting Pay $35-$37/hour

Requirements

• Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) and be a graduate of an approved AMA school of Respiratory Therapy
• Current and active Louisiana Respiratory Therapy license
• Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices, procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines governing long term care
• Must be able to work flexible schedule including 12-hour shifts
• Patient care oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Duties

• Provide general respiratory therapeutic services to patients including oxygen, medical gas, and humidification and suction therapies.
• Document patient/resident procedures, organize and analyze data, maintain accurate records.
• Communicate relevant patient/resident information to appropriate physicians and caregivers
• Provide staff education related to respiratory therapy
• Exhibits commitment to results by looking for and recommending/implementing process improvements
• Monitor patient/resident progress and update respiratory care plan as needed
