Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Per Diem in Glenview, IL. Shifts vary, including early and late daytime rotations with weekends/holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, delivering neonatal to geriatric therapies, assessing patients, documenting care, and educating patients and families. Illinois licensure and CPR are required, with ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current RRT or registry-eligible status and IL licensure within 6 months.
• CPR certification required; ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months.
• Clinical documentation and patient education skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide therapy to neonatal to geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine optimal treatment methods.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance, and orders.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to patients and families.
• Monitor patient response to therapy, especially neonatal/pediatric.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $51.40 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

Position: Respiratory Therapist RRT - Per Diem

Location: Glenbrook Hospital - Glenview, IL

Per Diem | Hours are Based on Department Needs

Hours: Shifts will vary Monday-Friday from 6:30am-7pm, 6:30pm-7am, 6:30am-3pm, or 2:30pm-11pm with rotating weekends and holidays

What you will do

Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures

Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures

Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment

Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians

Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner

Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients

Provide patient and staff education

What you will need

Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.

License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required.

State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within 6 months of employment.

Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required.

ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment.
