Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for per diem Level 2 night shifts at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role requires RRT licensure or registry eligibility and IL state licensure within 6 months.

Hourly pay ranges from $33.16 to $51.40, with generous shift premiums and benefits. Shifts are Monday–Friday nights with at least two weekend shifts per 6-week cycle and one major holiday in the first and last 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• State licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Illinois within 6 months of employment.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications required within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine best method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment and equipment maintenance; transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment to patient and family clearly.
• Monitor patient response to therapy, especially neonatal and pediatric.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $51.40 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

Position: Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem Level 2 - Nights

Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL

Per Diem Commitment Level 2: 73-110 hours per 6-week schedule

Hours: Shifts will vary Monday-Friday from 7:00pm-7:30am. With a minimum of 2 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period and one major holiday in first and last 6 months of year, required.

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.
• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required.
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within 6 months of employment.
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment.
