Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for evening shifts at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. This part-time role offers a 20-hour weekly schedule with potential float to Plainfield Emergency Center as needed.

The position requires graduation from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program and Illinois licensure within 6 months, with CPR and other advanced certifications required within 24 months. Sign-on bonus included.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• RRT or registry-eligible status; IL licensure within 6 months.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS must be completed within 24 months of employment.
• Advanced knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis, and cardiopulmonary physiology.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine best method for administering treatment.
• Document treatment and equipment maintenance; transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to patient and family.
• Monitor patient response to therapy, especially pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $51.40 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Location: Edward Hospital - Naperville, IL

Part Time | 20 hours/week

Schedule

Hours: Shifts will vary Monday - Friday from 2:30pm - 11pm with every third weekend and rotating holidays, required.

Required Travel: May float to Plainfield Emergency Center as needed.

What you will do

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need

Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.

License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required. State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within 6 months of employment. Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment.

Experience: Advanced knowledge of acid-base balance, blood gas analysis and interpretation, and cardiopulmonary physiology.
