Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC) is required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) status, or registry-eligible.
• Illinois licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner required within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification required.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS required within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment to patients and families clearly.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy with emphasis on neonatal and pediatric care.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Hourly Pay Range:

$31.75 - $47.63 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Sign on bonus: $25,000


• Position: Respiratory Therapist, CRT or RRT


• Location: Evanston Hospital - Evanston, IL


• Full time | 40 hours/week


• Shift: Nights, Monday-Sunday 7pm - 7am, every other weekend and rotating holiday requirements

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures


• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures


• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment


• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians


• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner


• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients


• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required


• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)/proof of registry eligible status or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), required


• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within six months of employment


• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required


• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment
