Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for per diem Level 2 night shifts at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role includes a 73-110 hour per 6-week schedule with rotating nights.

Responsibilities include assisting physicians, delivering respiratory therapy across age groups, patient assessment, documentation, and education for patients and staff. Required credentials include CoARC-accredited education, RRT or registry eligibility, IL licensure within 6

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited respiratory therapy program is required.
• RRT credential or registry-eligible status is required.
• Illinois licensure within six months of employment is required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS within 24 months of employment required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures as requested.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and orders.
• Communicate treatment to patients and families clearly.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, including neonatal and pediatric patients.
• Provide education to patients and staff.

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem Level 2 - Nights
• Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL
• Per Diem Commitment Level 2: 73-110 hours per 6-week schedule
• Hours:Shifts will vary Monday-Friday from 7:00pm-7:30am. With a minimum of 2 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period and one major holiday in first and last 6 months of year, required.

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.
• License/Certifications:Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment required.
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 24 months of employment, required.
