Endeavor Health’s Highland Park Hospital in Highland Park, IL, seeks a part-time Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for 20 hours/week. Shifts include 7am–3pm, 3pm–11pm, and 11pm–7am with weekend and holiday rotations. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

The role requires RRT or registry eligibility, IL licensure within 6 months, CPR, and ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months. Neonatal to geriatric care and education duties are included.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program (CoARC) is required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry-eligible status required.
• IL Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within 6 months of employment.
• Current CPR certification required.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS required within 24 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy to patients across age groups as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine the most suitable treatment method.
• Document treatments, equipment maintenance, and orders per policy.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly to patients and families.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy, with focus on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Educate patients and staff on therapies and care procedures.

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.16 - $51.40 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

• Location: Highland Park Hospital - Highland Park, IL
• Part Time | 20 hours/week
• Hours: Shifts can vary from 7am - 3pm, 3pm - 11pm, and 11pm - 7am with weekend rotation and holidays required

What you will do:

• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.
• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or proof of registry eligible status, required.
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within 6 months of employment.
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment.
