Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for neonatal to geriatric patients. You will operate RT-CRT setups, manage ABGs and EKGs, and assist with airway management under physician orders.

The role requires licensure, NBRC certification, and BLS/ACLS. You will work with a compassionate, inclusive team, ensuring safety, privacy, and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Current Licensed Respiratory Therapist in state of practice.
• Board certification by NBRC as RRT and BLS required.
• ACLS obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory therapy procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures and monitors patient status.
• Provides care aligned with patient age and safety requirements.
• Adapts communication and care to patient population and privacy standards.
