Job summary

Ochsner Health System Careers is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide RT-CRT services, oxygen therapy, diagnostics and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric across in-patient and out-patient settings.

The role requires an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred), current state license, NBRC RRT certification, and BLS with ACLS/PALS within 90 days of hire. Day/PRN shifts noted at St. Bernard Parish Hospital location.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Current Respiratory Therapist license in state of practice.
• RRT certification by NBRC.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care appropriate to patient age.
• Adapts communication to patient population.
