Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem is seeking Respiratory Therapists to deliver respiratory care across diverse hospital locations. The role supports patient assessment, treatment administration, and documentation in alignment with physician orders and hospital policy.

Applicants must graduate from a CoARC-accredited program, hold or be eligible for RRT, and obtain Illinois licensure within six months, plus current CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program as determined by CoARC.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or registry eligible status.
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians according to hospital policy and procedures.
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone orders.
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner.
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with attention to pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

This application is an evergreen opportunity, which means by applying once, you'll be considered for current and future Respiratory Therapist openings across our various hospital locations.

Sign-on bonus potential up to $25,000 for full-time nights and $10,000 for full-time days and evenings!

• Full-time, part-time, or PRN (8 and 12-hour shift options)
• Day, evening, and overnight shifts
