Job summary

Rush Specialty Hospital, a partnership between Select Medical and RUSH, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) to join our Chicago, IL team. This PRN/Per Diem position offers 12-hour shifts with a starting compensation of $50.00 per hour and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Night and weekend shift differentials may apply. The RT will evaluate patients, provide respiratory care, assist with endotracheal tube management, and contribute to quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Must possess an Active CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• BLS certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes as needed.
• Promote continuous quality improvement within the department.
• Teach and counsel patients and families about their care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• Must possess \"Active\" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.


• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.


• Current state licensure is required.


• ACLS is required upon hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift)

Preferred qualifications:

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
