Job summary

RUSH Specialty Hospital in Chicago, IL invites applications for a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT). This full-time, 12-hour day shift offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus and competitive hourly pay ($39.38–$53.00) with weekend differentials.

Join a team dedicated to world-class inpatient post-ICU care and ongoing staff development. Minimum NBRC credential (RRT/CRT), current state licensure, BLS at start date, and ACLS within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess Active CRT or RRT credential from NBRC or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation: college transcript/diploma preferred or HS transcript/GED.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• Current state licensure required.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire for all shifts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.

Compensation: $39.38 - $53.00 per hour (based on years of experience)

Minimum Requirements

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required within 6 months of hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift, PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
