Job summary

Northwest Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to administer respiratory care procedures, follow physician orders, and monitor patient responses. This role focuses on safe, effective therapy, documentation, and collaboration with care teams.

The position requires providing age-appropriate respiratory care, managing ventilators, and ensuring adherence to infection control standards. Acute care experience preferred; PRN shifts may be available.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of respiratory experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers advanced respiratory treatments, performs assessments, and monitors patient responses.
• Orients patient to treatment modality prior to procedure to facilitate cooperation.
• Performs ABG punctures accurately and reports results promptly.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as assigned.
• Performs pulmonary testing procedures as assigned.
• Follows respiratory protocols and safety guidelines during all procedures.
• Communicates effectively with peers, staff, physicians and leadership.
• Maintains respiratory equipment cleanliness and safety standards.
• Implements written/verbal physician orders in line with procedures.
• Documents all treatments, assessments and responses clearly and thoroughly.
• Utilizes PPE and identification techniques to ensure safety and infection control.
• Manages ventilator settings and airway maintenance.
• Exhibits judgment in emergencies and collaborates with teams to stabilize patients.
• Applies age-specific care considerations for oxygen therapy across populations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular attendance and compliance with policies.
