Job summary

Central Carolina Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to deliver comprehensive respiratory care across the hospital’s units, including ED, ICU, L&D, and OB. This role emphasizes assessment, airway management, resuscitation, education, and mechanical ventilation as part of optimized patient care.

Applicants should hold a North Carolina license with NBRC RRT credentials, possess an associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred), and have BLS status within 30 days; ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care license and NBRC RRT credential.
• Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Basic life support (BLS) within 30 days of hire; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic and advanced respiratory care in all hospital settings.
• Follow physician orders and plan, evaluate, and treat patients with acute/chronic pulmonary issues.
• Collaborate with other healthcare providers for patient continuum of care.
• Cover Emergency Department, ICU, Labor & Delivery, and OB as a frontline RT.

More About Our Team

Our Respiratory Therapist treat a range of patients; from premature infants whose lungs are not fully developed to elderly people with lung disease. Our RTs are skilled in assessment, airway management, resuscitation, patient education, pulmonary disease management, and mechanical ventilation which are essential for optimized care. As a frontline employee RT's cover the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Labor & Delivery, and OB departments.

How You Will Contribute

• A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role:
• Responsible for providing basic and advanced respiratory care services in all clinical settings in the hospital.
• Follows the orders of the patient's physician, helps plan, evaluate and treat patients for acute and chronic Pulmonary issues while in the hospital setting.
• Collaborates with other health care providers for the patient's continuum of care.

What We Are Looking For

• Applicants must have current North Carolina Board of Respiratory Care License and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC
• Applicants should possess an associate's degree.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• BLS is required within 30 days of hire
• ACLS, PALS, NRP preferred
