Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a CoARC-approved Respiratory Care program in good standing.
• Registered with the state Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) as an RCA.
• Completed competency evaluations for each job duty.
• BLS certification required by policy.
• Additional facility-specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development over the life span and assesses data reflective of the patient’s status.
• Identifies patient requirements and ensures and documents age-specific needs are met per department policies; provides and assesses education for patient and family.
• Performs respiratory care treatments and oxygen administration.
• Suctions patients and obtains and runs ABG samples.
